, app dev / web design

The page starts as plain words that have to sell with no formatting at all. Only once the argument stands does the design arrive, and by then it has something to serve.

, the layers

Every page we ship is four layers deep. A generator makes the top one.

Grid, type, colour, then the finished surface. Pulled apart here so you can see what a generated page leaves out. Move the pointer, then scroll.

  1. 01GridColumns and a baseline. Everything else is measured against this.
  2. 02TypeOne scale, four steps. Hierarchy before decoration.
  3. 03ColourOne accent, spent only where it has to work.
  4. 04PageThe three above, collapsed back into one surface.

, the real price

Four ways your site is costing you.

A site is either bringing you work or quietly taking some away. These are the four we look for first, in the order they usually show up.

  1. 01People who meant to call you did not. They landed, could not tell in five seconds what you do or whether you are any good, and left. You never hear about the ones who leave.
  2. 02It looks like your competitor.Same theme, same stock layout, same three cards. If a buyer cannot tell you apart on the site, they will decide on price.
  3. 03You stopped sending people to it.Editing it is a chore, so it went stale, so you send a PDF instead. That is the moment a site starts costing rather than earning.
  4. 04Every enquiry starts from zero. The site did not explain the offer, so you explain it again on every call. That is hours a week the page was supposed to save you.

, your options

We are not always the right answer.

Here is honestly what you would do if we did not exist, and a real reason to pick each one over us.

Keep what you have

It already brings you enquiries and you can edit it yourself.

Most people cannot tell whether it does. The cost of a quiet site arrives slowly and never shows up on an invoice.

A template builder

You need a brochure, you want it live next week, and the budget is tight.

It will look like the template, because it is one. You are also the one maintaining it at 11pm.

An AI site generator

You need something on a URL today and it only has to exist.

It writes what every other prompt wrote. Nothing on the page was decided, which is exactly what a buyer feels and cannot name.

A freelancer

You know precisely what you want and you are able to art-direct it.

One person, one skill set, no cover when they are ill or busy, and the decisions still land on you.

Us

The site has to sell something considered, and you want the argument settled before a pixel is drawn.

We are not the cheapest and you will not be live next week. If a template genuinely fits your offer, we will tell you to use one.

, the system

Here are the controls. Go break something.

A template hands you an outcome. A system hands you the settings that produced it. What follows is live: every control changes the composition in front of you.

Case study

The same page, six settings later.

Nothing here is hard-coded. Every edge, size and accent comes from a variable, exactly like the systems we hand over.

Four controls, one composition. That is what gets handed over: not screens, a system that still holds when you add the next page.

, what we build

From the site you show to the tool you open.

  • 01Marketing sitesThe site people judge you by, designed around your actual offer and written in your voice.
  • 02Design systemsType scale, colour, spacing and components, documented. Your next page belongs without a designer in the room.
  • 03Ecommerce & bookingStorefronts and booking flows where the checkout is drawn as carefully as the homepage.
  • 04Web applicationsDashboards, workflows and tools built around how your team actually works.
  • 05Client portalsA branded, secure place for customers to log in, see their data and self-serve.
  • 06Internal toolsRoles, validation, history and an audit trail. The end of the shared spreadsheet.

, the run of it

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. Week 1

    Talk, then scope

Thirty minutes on what is actually slowing you down. We come back with a one-page scope and a fixed price. You approve it before anything starts.

  2. Week 1

    Direction

You see where the design is going before it is built: type, colour, the shape of the key pages. Cheap to change at this stage, which is the whole reason it happens here.

  3. Every 2 weeks

    Working software

Not slides. A staging URL you can open on your phone and click through. If something is wrong, it is wrong two weeks in, not two months in.

  4. Launch

    Live, then handed over

We deploy, document, and give you the repository. Then we stay reachable, because the first month after launch is when the real questions arrive.

, the honest answers

Including the ones that do not flatter us.

Why not just use Framer, Wix, or an AI builder?

Use one, genuinely, if your site is a brochure and you want it live next week. They are good at that. What they cannot do is decide what your page should say and where the eye should go, because those are judgements about your business, not layout problems. If a template already fits your offer, you do not need us.

What does it cost?

A marketing site usually lands in the low thousands, a site plus an application in the tens. We do not publish a number because the honest one depends on how many pages, how much content exists already, and what has to connect to it. You get the exact figure in writing before anything starts, and that figure is the invoice.

How long does it take?

Most sites run four to eight weeks from first call to live. We set the launch date in week one and put working software on a staging URL every two weeks, so you are never waiting on a reveal.

Who owns it when you are done?

You do. Clean, documented code in your repository, your hosting, your domain. If you want to take it to another studio next year, nothing stops you. There is no proprietary editor holding it hostage.

Can you fix what we already have?

Often, yes, and it is usually cheaper. We will tell you honestly whether your current site is worth extending or whether you are paying to maintain a mistake. Sometimes the answer is that it is fine and you should spend the money elsewhere.

What if we do not like the design?

You see the direction before it is built, and you approve the one-page scope before we start. Design happens in the open, in two-week slices, so there is no moment where a finished thing arrives and you have to be polite about it.
